Dr. Stephanie Barbakoff

DC, DACNB

Dr. Barbakoff, originally from New York, specializes in women’s health as it relates to hormones, fatigue, dizziness, and migraines.

Dr. Barbakoff is a board-certified Doctor of Chiropractic and a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Neurology Board (DACNB). Originally from New York, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree, graduating Cum Laude from the State University of New York Farmingdale. With a strong interest in health science, she began exploring different avenues to work with patients in a healthcare setting. She worked in offices of Osteopathy, Obstetrics, and Chiropractic before deciding on holistic health care.

She attended Life Chiropractic College West where she earned a Doctorate, graduating Magna Cum Laude with honors. During her time there, she founded a women’s softball team, the school’s first Sports Council, and led several clubs, including Functional Neurology and the League of Chiropractic Women. She has completed her postdoctoral neurology training through the Carrick Institute for Graduate Studies. She currently serves as the Vice President of the California Chiropractic Association’s San Diego chapter.

Dr. Benjamin Terrano

DC, DACNB, CCEP

Dr. Terrano, born and raised in California, specializes in post concussion syndrome, movement disorders, chronic pain and athletic performance. 

Dr. Terrano is a board-certified Doctor of Chiropractic, a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Neurology Board (DACNB) and Certified Extremity Practitioner (CCEP). Originally from Northern California, he attended California State University Chico and earned degrees in Kinesiology and Psychology. He graduated Life Chiropractic College West Magna Cum Laude with clinical honors. He continues post-doctorate functional neurology training through the Carrick Institute.

He was an active participant in kinematics & cadaver dissection research studies and previously worked as a massage therapist and certified personal trainer. He has published multiple research papers in the journal Frontiers in Neurology on his work. His passion for optimal brain performance has provided the opportunity to work with professional athletes over the years and he enjoys playing recreational softball in his spare time. His philosophy is to get people as well as possible, as quickly as possible, using integrative techniques.

Sydney

Patient Care Coordinator

Here to answer any and all patient questions and assist with scheduling and logistics of care.

Sydney is a recent graduate of San Diego State University with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a minor in Counseling and Social Change. She plans on attending a School Psychology Masters program within the next year, where she’ll be learning through evidence-based practices and data-based decision making how school psychologists implement prevention and intervention strategies, promote safe and academically enriching environments and improve school-wide and system-level practices and policies. As the patient care coordinator at Oculus, she loves interacting with patients and celebrating their progress. One patient described her interaction with Sydney as “feeling like you’re talking to a good friend.”
